It's New Years Eve and we have just been to church - which is a great thing to do on 31st December. It was fun today listening to Megi talk about the great week of eating fish - especially the smoked salmon. She couldn't believe that someone had sliced it all up for her! Tonight we had a smallish congregation but it was still good to be together. Three of the girls and I watched a Veggie Tale about Christmas during the second half of the service. We had popped streamers in celebration of the fact that in Christ we were all new!
It doesn't seem possible to us all that David and Huong with Ashleigh, have been with us for 2 years! Next week we farewell them. Andrew and Michelle with Tim and Katelin, and David, Huong and Ashleigh have made a big difference to us all. Not only their teaching, friendship and encouragement, but the joy of having young families belonging to our congregation has been wonderful.
Today Rar, Andrew, Matt, Anna and Sophie all came for a lamb roast. Sophie was fun as usual. She had a lot of smiles for Andrew today which was funny because he had brought her a late Christmas present - a cuddly rug with a hand crocheted edge (he had learned to crochet and had done the edge himself). It was very nicely done. Sophie had a sleep in the cot which we have just put up in our house for her and any other baby or little child.

Ian likes this "tree" very much because I found the branch by the beach, brought it home, sprayed it gold and then hung my decorations on it.
