20 July 2007

Today Barb and I finished her quilt! Virginia Wise of The Shire Quiltery did an amazing job quilting both Barbara's quilt, and Rachel & Andrew's wedding quilt. Her work is always superb. I also include a few photos of Josiah and Micah's Bible cushions. They did a wonderful job with their drawings and Barb and I did the embroidery. I love their choice of Bible verses.

Just to let you all know that Edna (Gummar, Muggar, Aunty Ed etc.) is coming to brunch with us on August 4th. It should be fun for all - and delicious too.

My latest box from Amazon arrived today. You can see the covers of them if you go to Librarything.com at the links on the bottom of this page. The titles included 50 baby bootees to knit (very cute cover and patterns) and Birds of a feather (fabulous bird blocks for a quilt or pillow). I have been spoiled!! I am about to launch into some new sewing as the quilts at the quilter are ready already for me to pick up. Exciting.

July 2007

Hello everyone! I am beginning to plan for some events in early August. We are having our Girls' night in at Church on Friday 3rd and it is to be a sewing evening - cushions, wall hangings etc. I am in the midst of planning some sample pillows and other things for people to try. We are going to continue this project into the September Girls' night in. I'll post my samples as they are ready.
Then, on Saturday 4th August we are going to have an O'Connor/ Cox brunch. This requires menu planning! So far, we have decided on fruit, yoghurt, perhaps Bircher muesli ?, buttermilk pancakes and maple syrup, lemon tarts and sour dough toast from Bourke St. Bakery. We are open for suggestions. Of course we'll be posting pictures of this great feast.
